Connolly Editorial conducts the same rigorous analysis and assessment of all writing it receives. Authors can therefore expect to receive 30-40+ detailed comments, corrections and suggestions per page in a review.

Much of our feedback will concern language/grammar errors, structural suggestions, and stylistic improvements. But given our deep scientific understanding of optimisation and operations research, where we excel is providing constructive recommendations concerning the scientific substance of your work. Connolly Editorial is uniquely positioned to evaluate (i) if the core concepts and results of your research are being properly expressed and (ii) whether the value and contribution of your work is compelling enough to withstand the scrutiny of peer reviewers and the academic community more generally.

Below you will find a brief overview of our different services. We offer fixed price packages with respect to journal papers. Meanwhile, general price ranges are given for masters/PhD theses, project proposals, and writing/presentation seminars

Journal Papers

Basic: €500

Standard: €750

Given the depth of our feedback, and how implementing it can result in significant structural and textual changes to your paper, we highly recommend using our standard or premium packages. That way we are able to not only provide a second (or third) round of substantive comments which takes into account these amendments to your manuscript, but also respond to any questions you may have related to our feedback and how best to address it via intermediary digital meetings.

Theses

Masters Thesis: €600-€1200

The estimate above is based on a thesis of approximately 50-100 pages in length. At the lower end of the scale might be a short thesis for which we provide just a single rigorous review. At the higher end of the scale we may be working with a longer thesis and providing two rigorous reviews, potentially with an intermediary Q&A meeting. Higher or lower quotations than the range above are possible depending on the set of circumstances and services requested, contact us for a precise quote.

PhD Thesis: €1200-€2400

The estimate above is based on a thesis of approximately 120-240 pages in length. At the lower end of the scale might be a PhD thesis which is already fully developed and requires just a single revision with a follow-up Q&A meeting. At the higher end of the scale might be a thesis of a similar length, but not yet developed and therefore several meetings and revisions are required to properly frame the research in clearly written introduction and conclusion chapters. Or it might represent a fully developed but much lengthier text for which two rigorous reviews are requested. Funding Proposals

Individual Grants or Small Projects: €500-€1200

This estimate range concerns project proposals for individual PhD grants or smaller projects, perhaps seeking internal funding from one’s institution. At the lower end of the scale might be an individual PhD grant for which a clear pitch has already been refined, meaning only a single rigorous review and follow-up Q&A meeting is required. The higher end of the scale might concern an individual PhD grant where the general topic is known, but several meetings and rigorous reviews are needed to develop a clear argument and precise pitch for a general/targeted audience. If there is a presentation component, then assistance preparing slides and coaching for giving the presentation can also be given for an additional smaller fee (€100-€200). Higher or lower quotations than the range above are possible depending on the set of circumstances and services requested, contact us for a precise quote.

Large Projects: €1200-€2400

This estimate range concerns proposals for larger projects, typically consisting of budget for several PhD students and/or postdoctoral researchers. At the lower end of the scale might be a project proposal seeking funding for two or three PhD students and two years for a postdoctoral researcher, for which a clear pitch has already been refined. The higher end of the scale might concern bilateral/multilateral or European projects involving several institutions (academic and/or industrial) for which there are many contributing authors and therefore a substantial amount of work is required to cross-reference and ensure academic/numerical/scientific consistency. Writing & Presentation Guidance

Daily Rate: €300-500

We can visit your research group or institution to provide seminars or lectures on successful academic writing and presentation. Longer stays enable us to provide experiences beyond these larger-scale events and also sit down with individual researchers, enabling us to address any questions they may have related to their specific research or how to approach a certain project. Our daily rate is dependent on the desired duration of the visit. The higher end of the scale reflects a one-day visit, while the lower end of the scale corresponds to a full working week.
